Pyrolysis with the OPTIC 3 injector

Solid sample:
The sample is placed into the liner and the liner is placed into the injector. After this the OPTIC 3 injector is heated with a very fast ramp rate to 600°C or lower.

This technique is very helpful with material research where it is possible to make combined injection techniques like thermal desorbtion in the first step and pyrolysis in the second.

This technique is used often with plastics, paint, coatings, wood, tobacco, paper etc.

Next to these fixed samples it is possible to inset a small micro vial into the injector liner. The sample can be placed into the micro vial and sample is desorbed and/or pyrolysed. We cal this technique DMI.

All this can be automated with our LINEX. (automated liner exchanger)
